Industry veteran Charlie Morrison becomes the chain’s first new CEO in 50 years.
Jersey Mike’s Subs on Thursday announced the appointment of Charlie Morrison as the sandwich chain’s first new CEO in five decades.
Morrison, who most recent served as CEO of Salad and Go, led chicken wing chain Wingstop from 2012 to 2022. His past stops include Pizza Inn, Pizza Hut, Steak and Ale and Boston Market.
He will succeed Peter Cancro, who acquired the company’s first location in 1975, effective Monday.
“Having led Wingstop through a monumental period of growth and a successful IPO, he knows what it takes to lead a first-of-its-kind, category-defining brand, and I am confident he will bring that same energy and vision to Jersey Mike’s,” Cancro said in the annoucement. “Importantly, he also shares our values and commitment to giving to the communities we serve.”
“Together, we’ll focus on continuing to accelerate growth across new and existing markets and identifying opportunities to invest in additional technological advancements and innovation, while remaining true to the exceptional quality, service and community values that make Jersey Mike’s so beloved nationwide,” Morrison said.
